Puddin!

Sometime we do classy things.

And sometimes we sit on the kitchen floor half dressed and make chocolate pudding, and then eat it right out of the bowl.

Memorial Day!

On Memorial Day we went to the La Canada parade.
Picture loads of cars with signs taped to them, loads of kids with streamers taped to their handlebars, and one gigantic cheerleading squad. It was very cute. We stood in front of church and watched the action go by.

And then we went home and Simon bbq'ed for us.

Sea World!

We got annual passes to Sea World this year- we've only been twice, but we are excited about going again!

This time, we experienced the dolphin show (amazing!), the penguin exhibit, the arctic exhibit, and the shark encounter. Our cousin Meghan was here from Peoria to add to the fun!

Here we are in the shark tank!

We're Off to See the Wizard!!

We had an amazing girl's day out in Sierra Madre at the Fairytale theater's Wizard of Oz.
My cousin Meghan was in town and we decided to follow the yellow brick road down to their cute kiddie performance. The witch was pretty scary, but we were brave. Our friends Sarah and Jenny brought their little girls Fallon and Maddie. And, of course, Heather was on hand with Rosie. The girls participated in the show as munchkins.

After the show, the cast came out to the front of the theater to sign autographs and Lucy got a complete set. . . minus the witch.

Afterwards, we all headed back to our house where Simon was grilling up hamburgers and hot dogs for our hungry munchkins.

And Lucy has been "Dorothy" ever since. She has designated me to be the Tin Man, Simon is the Scarecrow, and little Henry is the Lion. We hear her from time to time telling the little Lion, "don't worry, the Wizard will give you some College."

We can hope, little Dorothy.

Our Friend McKenna's birthday party

We went to McKenna's birthday party a few weeks back.
It was amazing!
My friend April has her own cake design/decorating business and she does incredible work!
The theme was "under the sea" and she made 2 cakes: a pirate chest and a treasure map themed cake as well as a whole host of mini cupcakes decorating the table.

The real Disney Ariel and the real Disney Captain Jack Sparrow were also on hand.
The kids were terrified when they first saw Captain Jack, but they quickly warmed up to his surly, silly, and slightly inebriated antics.
They were perfect!!

Lucy was SMITTEN with Ariel.
And luckily, Ariel was a captive audience considering she couldn't walk or move in her costume. When it was time for her to leave, Captain Jack picked her up, tossed her over his shoulder, and walked down the street.

Mother's day

Mother's Day was magic!

We spend the day doing what any loving, nurturing, self sacrificing mother longs to do . . . .
. . . . get away from the kids.
(Just kidding Lucy and Henry! Mommy loves you!)

We stayed overnight at the Blue Lantern Inn which was incredible.
The room was exceptional, the views were incredible, and the wine was complimentary.
The perfect storm.

Mom, Heather, and I spent our time sitting on the patio and chatting.
And chatting.
And chatting.

This is for me. . .what are you guys having?

Easter Sunday

We had the family over on Easter Sunday again this year.
Simon manned the barbeque, and many many eggs were hidden and found!

My sister made AMAZING desserts:
Little carrot cupcakes and chick cookies!
SOO CUTE!

EASTER!

Ok! Ok!
I'm back!
And to my restless fans fan out there I say, sorry for the hiatus, but this working full time and mommy full time and keeping up with this house full time thing is not for sissies.
Something always gets neglected, and it this case, it was the blog.
Better that than my darling children, I say.

Easter.
Do you remember Easter?
No?
Ok, now you're just being mean.

We went to the Compass Church's Easter event again this year. It was a little fun and a lot hot and a whole lot crowded.

The kids still had a great time.
