Thanksgiving

How blessed are we?!
We got to spend Thanksgiving together again at my parents house. The feast was prepared in my folks new swanky kitchen.

Nana and Papa Bordeaux, Mom and Dad, and us!

Delicious!

After the feast, Henry needed a quick bath in the sink.
Ahhhhh  . . . .

Halloween. . . For Real

We trick-or-treated in our very own neighborhood. . . just walked up the street, which is apparently a serious local destination! Such fun!
We were there before the "creepy kids" showed up and got some seriously delicious candy . . .

I raided Lucy's dress up box and went as a princess. . .ish.
Lucy was a kitty again, and Henry wore his rugby gear.
Simon was a Liverpool fan. . .a big departure for him.

Dada shows Lucy how to ring the door bell.

We ran into our neighbor/church friends the Heggers and Lucy happily trick-or-treated with her friend who is ALSO named Henry.

Shower for Suzanne's pumpkin

So my cousin Matt has this amazing wife named Suzanne. They are due with their first little baby in December, so my mom, sister, and I decided to throw a little baby shower.

We decorated with a fall theme. Leaves, fall garland, pumpkins, and mums all the way.

And this was the cake.
Seriously, that's a cake!
And here's the real shocker. . . it was pretty AND delicious! Who knew?!

We're not huge game people, but wanted to throw one in there for good measure.
Dissatisfied with normal shower action, we made up our own: a relay race that involved the ladies breaking up into two teams and attempting a series of feats that REAL MOMMIES DO EVER DAY!
These feats included:
1. Putting on lipstick with one hand while making a peanut butter sandwich with the other
2. Putting up a pack-n-play while cradling a phone between cheek and shoulder
3. Strapping a "toddler" into a carseat while singing "Row Row Row Your Boat"
4. Holding "toddler" on hip with one hand while applying a band aid with the other

It was pretty entertaining. . . .

for me.

Can't wait to meet baby Krause!

Practice Halloween

Once upon a time, there was a civilization that only had ONE Halloween per year.
That's right . . .just the one.

These days, before the big day we have Halloween parties, costume days, and THEN comes actual Halloween.

Oh shoot.
I'm not complaining.
I love Halloween.

So for our first "Practice Halloween" on Friday the 29th, Heather came over with Rosie and Sadie.
And check it out. . .these two showed up wearing the EXACT same t-shirts!
Love it!

Mimi, Papa, Great Papa Welch, and Aunt Bonnie arrived, and we hit the street for some trick or treat!
Lucy was a kitty and Henry was a Welsh rugby player.

(Oh, and I was Minnie Mommie.)

Patiently awaiting his turn with the trick or treat bucket. . . sadly, never happened.
Next year, little Prop Forward.
