"Do you believe in my blogging ability?
"If you believe," she  shouted to them, "clap your hands; don't let this blog die!"

Be back soon . .  .

Everyone Knows its WINDY!

So our power was out for 6 days last week due to hurricane strength winds here in Pasadena. We knew it was going to be windy, but the damage really took us all by surprise. Our house made it through fine except for a lot of brush, limbs, and one downed tree in the backyard.

We are so lucky to have Mimi and Papa's house just an hour away to go to for safe refuge. They took great care of the kids and I while Simon stayed back at the house to protect our little cottage from looters who were working the area. Nice.

Here are some shots of our yard:

We are safe! We are grateful!

We are thankful

Thanksgiving came and we were thankful as ever.
Nana and Papa came from Peoria.
We feasted and laughed and enjoyed.

A stunning centerpiece sent by Sharon and Terry adorned our table. . .

Four generations of "Bordeaux" women

Lucy and Dada

Thankful!

Let's eat!

Charlie

We got a dog.

She is an Australian Labradoodle name Charlie.
She is super cute and fluffy and good with the kids.
She came to us from Royal Diamond Labradoodles and she has quickly become a part of the family.
Her dad's name is Rolex and her mom's name Coco Chanel.
She's listed on the website as "Amber Akiane."

She's passionate about food, playing, and shredding Henry's poopy diapers all over the house (gag!)

We love her.

Catch up. . . .

Shame!
Shame on me!
The blog is so dusty I can barely recognize it!

I will try to get you up to speed. Forgive the delay.

HALLOWEEN!

We trick or treated in Sierra Madre,
and then trudged up the hill from our house for some serious candy action.
Mimi and Papa were with us, although Papa was feeling a bit under the weather having just returned from Haiti.

The Living Desert

We went to La Quinta to stay at our friends Alaina and Mike's beautiful home.
They made us feel right at home with beautiful rooms, views for miles, warm breezes, and a tantalizing margarita recipe that I can't wait to try at home.
Our kids are certainly great friends as well- Ava is a little older than Lucy, and Mya is a little older than Henry. They ran around like a little pack.

The Living Desert is a zoo nearby that was having a Halloween event that we thought the kids would love.
They did!

Henry, the Cowardly Lion, Lucy as Dorothy, Ava as a beautiful ladybug, and Mya as a monarch butterfly

Thank you to our great friends!
We had a wonderful time!

Its the Great Pumpkin, Henry Hunt!

And now you are two!
How can that be?
Henry Boy had a great birthday party on Sunday.
There was pumpkin carving, bratwurst eating, and bounce house jumping. . .all surrounded by some of our very favorite family and friends.
