Story time

These are quiet days.
These are pajama pants until noon days.
These are treasured days with Dada here all day long.

We are euphoric.

Lucy and Henry

Lucy finally got to meet her baby brother on Wednesday when we brought him home.

We were welcomed by this festive sign, design by Papa Welch, some art by Lucy Hunt.

Lucy, sporting her "I am a Big Sister" shirt (thanks to Auntie Hezzie) met the little guy and loved him immediately. Her voice went up 2 octaves as she coddled and coo-ed. "Baby Brother! Oohhh so cute! So little."

Henry Christopher Hunt born 10-19-09

Our baby boy is born!

Henry Christopher Hunt was born October 19th, 2009 at 3:08 pm. He was 9 pounds, 4 ounces and 22 inches long.

We checked into Verdugo Hills Hospital at 6:00 am and I was plugged by 7:30. Simon and I sat there and stared at each other, giggly, waiting for the little guy to be ready. My mom and sister came and spent time too. Thankfully Dad volunteered to stay at the house and watch Rosie and Lucy. The hospital has a very strict and very new "no-kids-under-the-age-of 14" law due to Swine Flu restrictions. We had to change our plans a little and luckily, my family was VERY flexible and VERY helpful! THANK YOU!

At about 2:30 pm we started the pushing process, and wouldn't you know it?! 30 minutes later, Henry was born! After making us wait for so long to see him, he was merciful in the delivery, and didn't dilly dally.

We were amazed and overwhelmed at God's goodness! Henry had a knot in his umbilical cord that was only discovered after he was out that didn't cause any complications whatsoever. But by the grace of God!

We love our Henry Hunt, now a whole 4 days old!

It's go time!

It's Go Time. . .

Tomorrow, October 19th, 2009, our little baby is being born! I'm being induced at 6:00 am at Verdugo Hills Hospital.

I made the appointment LAST Monday, and quite frankly, NEVER thought I would make it! This little guy has really made quite a home for himself. I've been having contractions all week, and we know it's go time!

We'll keep you posted!

Meanwhile, back at Hunt Family Farms. . . .

Ok, deep breath-

Let's just pretend I'm not pregnant. . . and 6 days overdue.
Let's just pretend that I didn't take Castor Oil this morning and nothing happened. . .
Let's not focus on my rapidly deteriorating emotional and physical state.
If he needs a couple extra days in there, I'm more than happy to give it to the little guy.

He's coming out Monday morning when I'm induced at 6:00 am regardless.

Let's just keep up with Miss Lucy and her daily activities, shall we?

Lucy loves the sandbox her Daddy made her with his own two hands.
The sand doesn't ALWAYS stay in the box, however.

We've been doing a special fall/Halloween craft project everyday together. Here she is making a candy corn out of construction paper. She is quite crafty and has an insatiable passion for glue in all forms.
