Pearly Whites!
What do you do for fun on Saturday afternoons?
Bike rides?
Homemade ice cream?
Pillow fights?
Not the Hunts!
What we like to do is go to the dentist!
We have worked out a "family day" for our crew where we all get seen and clean by our awesome dentist, Dr. Lily.
This was Henry's first visit.
Lucy gets her teeth cleaned. She told me later that the lady had to work really hard to scrape all the "black" off of her teeth.
Henry's first visit consisted of Dr. Lily "counting" his teeth. 16 total!
And yes, even the adults have to endure. . . .
And when I went in to check on Simon, he was inexplicably wearing purple Terminator style sunglasses that apparently his dental hygienist asked him to wear.
He said it was to protect his eyes from any flying debris, but I know she was just messing with him.
Clean as a whistle!
Look ma! No cavities!

Dizniz fo shizniz
DISNEYLAND! YES!
We went to Disneyland/California Adventure on Wednesday.
We met up with Heather, Rosie, and Sadie to complete our cast of characters.
I knew Henry was excited when we was wearing Lucy's Snow White bow at breakfast before we left.
Rosie and Lucy immediately held hands and raced towards the park gates.
I mean, have you EVER seen a more excited picture of Lucy? In your life?
Rosie and Sadie came decked out in official Disney fan gear. They totally pulled it off.
Cinderella decided to descend upon us as we were admiring the Snow White wishing well. Rosie, Lucy, and Sadie all looked on in awe. . . truly star struck. Henry, on the other had, started sobbing and screaming. Not even the fairy godmother (who seriously tried) could calm him down. He finally pulled himself together for our last ride, and family favorite, It's A Small World.
Thanks for a great day!
Can't wait to go back to Mickey's house!

Banditos!
Memorial Day for us meant a several things: dry walling the space for our new closet, eating ridiculously delicious barbeque a la Simon every night, and Monday we spent the day at the Bandito campsite up Angeles Crest highway.
Mostly I needed to get out of the city. Fast. Sometimes a gal just gets claustrophobic. We headed up the hill for a picnic lunch and some general wandering around in the woods with no one else around.
The kids had a great time. Many sticks were inspected, pine cones were hoarded, then launched. Flowers were discussed, and hide and seek games erupted. Tree bark was prodded and Sonny Salsbury's "These Are The Trees" song was sung with enthusiasm.
Mostly we listened to the silence and breathed in the air like vitamins.

Party Girl
Lucy was invited to a special birthday party this week.
Her friend Chloe from Bethany invited her over for bounce house fun, cake, pinatas, and even a visit from fan favorite Rapunzel!
Rapunzel gave make overs to all the little princesses.
Bounce!
Royalty
( I love how Lucy is holding her dress out in this picture. Totally in character.)

On the way to the yogurt shop. . .
. . . we saw this.
And, yes, in answer to your question. . . I do change Henry's clothes from time to time.
He just loves his new t-shirt!
So he wears it.
And I'm cool with it.

Muddy System
You can keep your fancy gaming systems and your $200.00 dollies.
Don't pester us with promises of toy cars that drive themselves and helicopters that operate using your smart phone.
All we need is
a
big
pit
of
mud
Done.
