Mother's Day

What a blessing to be able to spend Mother's Day not only AS a mother, but with MY mother and my MOTHER'S MOTHER! That's a lot of mothers. 4 generations, to be exact, and we couldn't have been happier. We had a wonderful family day with my Nana and Papa from Peoria, Illinois (great-nana to Lucy!) Events included delicious lunch, gifts, manicures and pedicures, a quick swim in the pool (fun for Rosie, not so fun for Lucy. . .) and an evening around the outdoor fire pit.

Practice makes perfect

Lucy has just become a fan of the pacifier (aka "binky" at home, "dummy" with our beloved English grandparents!)She is, in fact, becoming such a pro with the thing that she has actually started doing tricks. Here are a few of her favorites!

America has voted. . . .

Which one do YOU like better? The pink or the blue??? Lucy believes it's high time we gave swimming a try. Other babies HALF HER AGE are trying it. Honestly.

DADA!

On the eve of her 7th birthday, Lucy decided to say, "DADA!" Or rather a whole string of Dada in a dadadadadadadadda fashion. We are convinced she has said her first word! It makes for funny moments such as yesterday when I opened the dryer, only to find a forgotten load sitting there waiting to be folded. I said to Lucy, "Well! Who left all these CLOTHES in here and didn't FOLD THEM?!" Lucy replied, "DADA."

At last! A witness!

The only problem is, she doesn't always perform on cue. (See video. . . )

The Masters

Simon decided to take a break from working on the house for an hour to watch The Masters golf tournament on tv. Funny thing about being a dad. . .it's so hard to concentrate on golf! Especially when little Lucy is squirmin' all over the place. And even MORE difficult to concentrate when she has her "Doc Brown" hair style. "Run for it Marty!"
