Bear Bread

Lucy and I love baking bear bread.
Lucy's job is to oil the pan, smack the dough, pull it apart, make little dough balls, and then we stick it all together to look like a bear.

And then we eat it, of course.

Work Picnic. . .is that an oxymoron?

We went to the Sky Mountain Charter School for our yearly school picnic. It was a time to sit around and talk to other ESs. . . and eat tacos from a taco cart.

Let's Go Angels!

Lucy and Henry's first Angels game!
We weren't sure how long we were going to be able to stick around due to Henry's "witching hour" hitting around 6:00, but we made it to the 7th inning stretch.

Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks!!

Peanuts, hot dogs, and lots of cheering!
We can't wait for the next one.

Sleepover with Mommy

Daddy was in Chicago.
Mommy was a little bit spooked, and decided to have both kids sleep in the bed with her.
Now the only question is. . .

how is Mommy going to fit in here?

Goodnight, my sweet babies.

Papa and the beach

Lucy, Papa, and I went for a walk to the beach.
Henry stayed home and had some quality time with his Mimi (read: nap.)
It was a beautiful day, very windy and cool but bright.

Lucy hitched a ride on Papa's shoulders.

joy!

Mother's Day Weekend

With Simon MIA in Chicago working on an exciting and top secret project, we were on our own for Mother's Day this year. Saturday we spent honoring Heather on her 30th birthday with balloon adorned beach cruisers and sushi. (No photos available . . .I can't ride and take pictures at the same time.)

Mother's Day was wonderful with mani/pedi time with the girls, grilled burgers ala dad, and adorable matching aprons for mommy and daughter from Mimi.

The models

Henry entertained us all on the jazz flute.

Miss Claire

Lucy loves her dance class with her teacher Miss Claire.
This time, she's gotten to take classes with two of her friends Ava and Grace.

Moods

Henry is 6 1/2 months.
He is sitting up.
He is eating rice cereal, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, and teething biscuits.
He babbles and talks.
He laughs constantly.

Sometimes he's happy.
Sometimes he's not.
Oh man. We are smitten.

You be the judge. . . .

. . . . did he say his first word?

Saying goodbye to Nana

We've been in Oregon quite a bit the past two weeks as we spent time with our Nana Welch before she passed away. She was a wonderful lady, full of chuckles and "oh honey"s, and a passion for Wheel of Fortune.

She made apple pies like you wouldn't believe and beds with military precision.

We just picture her in heaven bustling around a kitchen wrapping fresh baked cookies in paper towels, and packing them in Tupperware for others.

I loved her very much and will miss her forever.
