Wales, Pt. 3

Lucy got to meet many other wonderful people on her trip, including Nana's "coffee friends," Aunt Carol and Uncle Peter, and the Blakes, who graciously allowed us to spend the last night at their house! We are so grateful to everyone for their kind words, warm hugs, and thoughtful gifts! We can't wait to come back!

Wales, Pt. 2

Such an amazing trip takes several "blogs" to truly capture!

Lucy had a wonderful time:
1. on the swings in the park
2. with her auntie Jane
3. and grocery shopping at Sainsbury's!

Next it was on to Lichfield to meet Uncle Chris and Nan, both of whom we had never met. We had a fun "pub lunch" and got acquainted. (I had the fish and chips, Lucy had the peas.) Needless to say, we really hit it off! It's not everyday you meet your great grandma!

Wales, Pt. 1

I was recently asked to describe my trip to the UK in one word. I chose, "whirlwind." Of course, that can't possibly describe the thoughtfulness of Terry and Sharon our hosts, the amazing outpouring of love and support from their family and friends, or the laughter and tears we shared on our trip. Some highlights?

Lucy was a trooper. Slept the whole way there (11 hours) and most of the way back! Air France was very accomodating with a snap on bassinet and bulkhead seats. Terry and Sharon had truly gone overboard, lavishing love and gifts on little Lucy. From dozens of toys, to oodles of carefully chosen food items, we were truly "all set" for the week!

Lucy loved meeting her Auntie Jane and Uncle Justin. She was especially smitten with Justin and preferred to stare at him while he smiled and waved. Jane took a turn with the baby Bjorn and proved to be a natural.

UK HERE WE COME!

We're off for a week in Wales and England to see Simon's parents! We are all packed and ready to go. Somehow I imagined that Lucy's passport would be pink and tiny and would be made by Fisher-Price. Surprisingly enough, it looks a lot like mine! We are so excited to see everybody and for Lucy to give her grandparents lots of overdue hugs and kisses!

Playing CATCH UP!

Let's face it, I LOVE taking the pictures, LOVE looking at the pictures, but I'm not always the fastest with the DOWNLOADING of the pictures. . . so I'm playing a little "catch up." Here are some treasured moments of the last few weeks!

We had a fun bbq at the house with our wonderful friends the Hearns, Cirizas, and Princes! It was made to be EXTRA fun by the little pool that Sarah brought along! The kids loved it.

Lucy did some great swinging in Sierra Madre. She held on tight and looked around pleasantly, surveying the park with a contented smirk.

Sunblock? Check. Adorably tiny swimsuit? Check. African Queen style personal floatation device? Check. Daddy? Check. We had lots of fun in Mimi and Papa's pool!

Sunday Afternoon with Lucy

After a wonderful "anniversary" weekend, the Hunt family decided to play in the back yard. Lucy seems to enjoy playing in, and occasionally eating, the grass. And guess who is starting to make moves like a true CRAWLER? You guessed it. What a lovely afternoon!

Happy Hour!

Not only is Lucy eating peas, grapes, and Cheerios all by herself, but she has also become passionate about drinking all by herself! And why use a sippy cup when there are perfectly good pint glasses to be had?! I think she may be enjoying chewing on the glass more than anything else. The cold water feels great on her gums. . . even though she still doesn't have any teeth!

Bath Time!

What can I say? Although she is not a huge fan of getting OUT of the tub and getting dressed, Lucy loves her bathtime! She splashes around and grabs for her rubber duckies. . .sometimes she even experiments with exotic hairdos!
