Animal Crackers!

Lucy was struggling at the shops today, so Mommy decided some animal crackers were in order. Lucy carefully considered each animal, and what sounds they make before eating them in the back seat of the car on the way home.

Mostly, she likes to carry them around.

Asparagus

Once upon a time there was a little girl who liked asparagus. Her mommy was amazed. Especially amazed was her Papa Welch, who hates the stuff. Regardless, she ate 6 pieces at dinner. And lived happily ever after.

Park day!

We decided to go to the park! Lucy loved the yellow tunnel. . .

. . .almost as much as she enjoyed the blue car!
Then, Rosie and Lucy took some time out for themselves. I think they were discussing Obama's Stimulus Package.
Swinging is fun for one. . .

Seaside Waves

Lucy spent an afternoon introducing herself to several sea gulls this week. I took Rosie and Lucy to an overlook viewpoint off the 5 freeway. By the time we arrived, Rosie was sleeping soundly. Lucy and I still felt ambitious however, so we crept out of the Jeep, closing the doors quietly, and went to see the birds. Lucy was very friendly with them, waving and calling.



They were not very social.

Lu at the zoo!

This Saturday Lucy and I met up with my friend Sarah and her twins Fallon and Fletcher at the LA Zoo. We had a great morning. The zoo itself is not exactly a showstopper, but it's perfectly entertaining for 1 year olds who don't generally concern themselves with animal cruelty legislation.

Lucy loved observing the animals with her two little friends who generously provided her with the names of each animal, "Cah-mel!" "Zeeee-bah!" "Deee-ahh!" "Duck!" Lucy was content to point at each animal and exclaim with delight, "Na-na!"

Sadly, the elephant, Lucy's favorite, was not out and about on Saturday. We'll just have to go back whenever Sarah, Fallon, and Fletcher invite us again! We can't wait!
