Fancy Pants

I don't think I tried brie cheese until I was in college.

Perhaps that is a little more of a reflection on mountain upbringing than an insight into how fancy my daughter is. . .

Here she is eating brie on a baguette while manipulating a touch pad to color in her online Elmo picture.

Cardboard house

Lucy and Henry are having a wonderful time in Lucy's "playhouse."

Lucy has the ability to take a picture with just about anything. This is a wooden gate that goes with her farm set. But it takes an incredible photo.

Oh the joys of simple play!

Happy 4th of July

Fourth of July 2010.

Events:
Woke up.
Did our local parade up the street that featured kids on bikes decorated with streamers, and a guy with a tuba playing "America the Beautiful."

Watched Nathan's hot dog eating contest.

Drove to San Clemente for the REAL fun!

Simon and Lucy partake in early July 4th appetizers.

Rosie, Mimi, and Guac

THE SPREAD! Heather and Ron grilled true "beer brats," that is sausages that have been boiled in beer and onions are grilled on the bbq. We had watermelon, corn, baked beans, oh and a flag shaped pretzel salad.

Rosie and Lucy's table for two
Still no teeth on this kid, but we've got time. He still loves to gnaw on corn cobs and watermelon rind.

The fireworks! Heather carried baby Sadie in a moby wrap

Ron carried Rosie. . . she wasn't sure she was going to like it

Simon carried Henry in the Bjorn.

And my dad carried me.

Mimi and Lucy loved the fireworks! Or as Lucy referred to them, "The Big Booms."

What a great night!
