Here at Hunt Family Farms, we've been growing vegetables in our backyard this summer.

Here's one of our robust carrots.

Minnie Man

Our sweet Henry. . .
We know there's a limited amount of time
that you will allow your big sister to dress you up
like Minnie Mouse

But thanks for being a good sport for now.

And you look pretty cute in those ears.

Dining Al Fresco

The weather has been stunning lately.

Folks who know me well know that I begin to wilt when the weather gets above 90 degrees. When days start to hit the triple digits, I cower indoors with the air conditioning on.

However, June has been so beautiful here we've adopted our back patio as our dining room eating 2 and sometimes 3 meals at our table outside.

Lucy gets to try and feed Henry some yogurt.

She thinks its great. . .like a feeding a really responsive Baby Alive.

Henry likes it too . . .
. . . until he doesn't.
Nap time!

Father's Day 2010

Father's Day.

We went to the Crab Pot in Long Beach.

It's one of those places where they whack a load of seafood down on your table and give you a hammer. We smashed and dipped and slurped and enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Except for Lucy, who declared it was "too spicy."

Zoinks!

Dear Ro Ro

With Rosie in Bass Lake for much of the summer, Lucy and Rosie have become penpals.

Or more specifically, they like to color pictures for each other.

The picture we received from Rosie yesterday had a little letter written on the back, and reading that letter has quickly become Lucy's favorite past time.

That, and applying her $1.00 lip gloss.

Weekend in the Desert

I never thought of us as a "desert family."
We have have fair, fair, skin and an irrational fear of snakes.
However, this weekend with our wonderful friends the Hearns and Cirizas changed my mind dramatically.
Was it the awesome resort we stayed in?
Was it the wonderful evening chats after the kids were sleeping soundly after swimming all day? Was it the pina coladas?

The answer my friends is: YES!

This is one of, well, this is THE ONE picture I seem to have taken of Lucy's friends who were there this weekend. How did that happen? I think we had a few too many nap overlaps and missed the photo op action.
Quincy, Kadence, Maddie, and Wil were all there showing Lucy the joys of splashing and diving. Here little Wil Ciriza gives Lucy tips on maximizing your time in the kiddie pool.

Dada and Henry
Lucy loved her water wings and constantly wanted to be in the "big pool." She also wanted to swim unassisted, which I kept forgetting.

Thanks for a great weekend Kris, Kama, Mike, and Jenny. Can't wait to do it again soon!
