Story time

These are quiet days.
These are pajama pants until noon days.
These are treasured days with Dada here all day long.

We are euphoric.

Lucy and Henry

Lucy finally got to meet her baby brother on Wednesday when we brought him home.

We were welcomed by this festive sign, design by Papa Welch, some art by Lucy Hunt.

Lucy, sporting her "I am a Big Sister" shirt (thanks to Auntie Hezzie) met the little guy and loved him immediately. Her voice went up 2 octaves as she coddled and coo-ed. "Baby Brother! Oohhh so cute! So little."

Henry Christopher Hunt born 10-19-09

Our baby boy is born!

Henry Christopher Hunt was born October 19th, 2009 at 3:08 pm. He was 9 pounds, 4 ounces and 22 inches long.

We checked into Verdugo Hills Hospital at 6:00 am and I was plugged by 7:30. Simon and I sat there and stared at each other, giggly, waiting for the little guy to be ready. My mom and sister came and spent time too. Thankfully Dad volunteered to stay at the house and watch Rosie and Lucy. The hospital has a very strict and very new "no-kids-under-the-age-of 14" law due to Swine Flu restrictions. We had to change our plans a little and luckily, my family was VERY flexible and VERY helpful! THANK YOU!

At about 2:30 pm we started the pushing process, and wouldn't you know it?! 30 minutes later, Henry was born! After making us wait for so long to see him, he was merciful in the delivery, and didn't dilly dally.

We were amazed and overwhelmed at God's goodness! Henry had a knot in his umbilical cord that was only discovered after he was out that didn't cause any complications whatsoever. But by the grace of God!

We love our Henry Hunt, now a whole 4 days old!

It's go time!

It's Go Time. . .

Tomorrow, October 19th, 2009, our little baby is being born! I'm being induced at 6:00 am at Verdugo Hills Hospital.

I made the appointment LAST Monday, and quite frankly, NEVER thought I would make it! This little guy has really made quite a home for himself. I've been having contractions all week, and we know it's go time!

We'll keep you posted!

Meanwhile, back at Hunt Family Farms. . . .

Ok, deep breath-

Let's just pretend I'm not pregnant. . . and 6 days overdue.
Let's just pretend that I didn't take Castor Oil this morning and nothing happened. . .
Let's not focus on my rapidly deteriorating emotional and physical state.
If he needs a couple extra days in there, I'm more than happy to give it to the little guy.

He's coming out Monday morning when I'm induced at 6:00 am regardless.

Let's just keep up with Miss Lucy and her daily activities, shall we?

Lucy loves the sandbox her Daddy made her with his own two hands.
The sand doesn't ALWAYS stay in the box, however.

We've been doing a special fall/Halloween craft project everyday together. Here she is making a candy corn out of construction paper. She is quite crafty and has an insatiable passion for glue in all forms.

Still nada

Still waiting. 3 days over due.
Join me in a round of castor oil, won't you?

Final Countdown

Make room for baby brother!

We are sitting on the couch timing contractions. . .not the painful kind, just the "hmmmm. . . are we having contractions?" kind. We went to the doctor today and scheduled an induction for Monday, October 19th at 6:00 am. I'll be at 41 weeks then, and the doctor ( like with Lucy) recommended it . . HOWEVER, we may have this little baby SOONER.

Mimi is spending the night tonight in case Simon and I need to make a quick getaway, although I don't think we'll be rushing off any time soon.

What have we been up to in the meantime?

We picked out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch in South Pasadena. . .
We got a Daddy Pumpkin, a Mommy Pumpkin, a LuLu Pumpkin, and a Baby Brother Pumpkin.

And Mama looks like she's trying to shoplift a pumpkin by shoving it up her tank top. I feel like the Hulk. . . at any moment my clothes may just rip off due to extreme stretching.
Mimi came to Lucy's dance class with me today. Lucy loves her Miss Claire dance classes and she really was on today!
They did their "Rock and Rollers."
And then Lucy did her "Tigger Diggers" (Notice tiny foot in same position as instructors. . . we're so proud!
They then did their "Snow White" dusting time. . .

And then Mimi took us out to lunch.

We are enjoying our final week with Lucy as an ONLY CHILD! Soon she will have to share attention, a room, and this blog! But she will always be our first born, our first love, our first little girl. We love you Lucy girl!

*UPDATE* . . .no updates. . .no babies yet. This little guy really knows how to make a grand entrance! 10/13/09 10:00 am

Our new stroller

We were very excited to receive our new fabulous Joovy stroller last week via UPS! Nana and Papa Hunt have really outdone themselves this time. Thank you so much!

Although the stroller is REALLY a present for baby boy Hunt, Lucy and I took it for a test drive this morning while hunting for acorns.

She loves the standing platform on the back.

But if she gets tired, she can sit down . . . .my only question is, where do I get to sit down if I get tired?
Then Lucy decided to take a stroller-free moment and walk Miss Marcie.
Side note* Went to the doctor today, and we're still holding. . . made an appointment for Monday, which is my due date. Hopefully, I won't make it to Monday. I'm planning on going to Caioti Pizza, home of the world famous labor inducing salad.

I think I'll eat two.

*Spoiler alert!* Halloween costume announcement!

Lucy has "decided" on what she would like to be for Halloween: Minnie Mouse!

She tried on her costume today, and absolutely loves it. When she first saw it hanging on the hanger, she literally gasped.

Here's to one of the last years where Mommy gets to pick the outfit. I'm sure we'll have plenty of years of bizzare fad-induced costumes to come. (See last picture)
