LUCY TURNS 2! Part 1

Lucy Christine!
How is it possible that you are turning two on Saturday?
We are amazed at how you've grown and changed. You amaze us with your comments and comedic timing. We fall more in love with you each day.

Family scheduling led us to have an early birthday party for Lucy this weekend. My mom and dad, Heather, Ron, and Rosie all came to share in the fun!

Thanks everyone for a great evening!

The LA Fair

It was DOLLAR DAY at the LA Fair today.
Labor day weekend.
High 90 degree heat.
Problematic air quality.
8 months pregnant.

Who would be brave enough to attend this event?

OUR FAMILY! THAT'S WHO!

Morning with Dada

Dearest Simon. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!

Saturday morning Simon took Lucy on a Daddy/Daughter date so I could have some time to myself. His suggestions on how to spend my time included sleeping in, relaxing, watching a movie. I spent the time instead manically sewing drapes for the kids room.

And yes, it was bliss. . . . .

What did they do in the meantime? They spent some time with the statues at the library in South Pasadena.
They took the Gold Line train.

They went to the park.

They waited for the train.

They had a wonderful morning together.

I love you both!

Small world sing along

There's so much that we share
That it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all!

Dolly Ride

Some call it "Small World," but at our house, this ride is known as the "Dolly Ride."

It is our first and last stop when we visit Disneyland, known as "Dinneysand." Lucy absolutely loves it. . . Mommy loves the generous air conditioning.

The Park

Breakfast date.

Bad news: Our car broke down
Good news: We took it to the mechanic very early in the morning, and then went out to breakfast and to the park while we waited for it to be fixed!

Rosie turns TWO!

We love our Rosie girl! She turned two August 10th, and due to scheduling/traveling schedules, we just got to celebrate recently.
Rosie wore an adorable dress that Heather made for her just for the occasion.

A tiny table for two. The girls dined together on cheeseburgers and corn on the cob on little pink pig plates.
Rosie's fan club
Heather made adorable pink pig cupcakes. . .
A new bike!

We love you, Rosie!

What's in your carry-on, Miss?

Some people hate small, confined spaces. Lucy seems to gravitate toward them.

Baby Brains

I know.
I have fallen off the bloggin wagon again. Blame it on the smoke in the air? The gigantic baby smooshing up my internal organs? The school year in full force? Who knows.

The good thing is, just because we haven't posted any fun doesn't mean we aren't having any fun.

And thank goodness I have friends and family who HAVE posted some fun.

Thanks friends and family for letting me steal your creativity.
